The Importance of Cataloging Your Year

At the close of one year and the start of another it is really easy to forget all that you accomplished and experienced in the year prior. It can easily seem as if you truly accomplished and experienced nothing in the past year, but when you take a step back and look through your iPhone photos you might just realized you did more than you ever could imagine.

I’ll use myself as an example…

I was feeling like I didn’t travel this past year and as if I might have done nothing and wasted my year. Then I took a step back, pulled out my hard drive, logged into my computer and looked through all of my files for the year. Here is some of what I found out I did…

- Spent New Years in Detroit, Michigan and got to see at least a little snow for the first time in about a decade

- Flew down to Miami and caught up with old friends, made some new ones (I’m looking at you Jose and Kathy (aka @themrsmouseketeer) and spent time with family

- I was lucky enough to spend the weekend with my nephew’s and celebrate one of their birthdays in a big blowout weekend

- Drove my friend Gabby from Jacksonville, Fl down to Tampa, Fl when she got stuck trying to go home

- Went Indoor Skydiving for the first time

- Drove last minute from Northern Florida to Orlando to meet my best friend and her family at Universal Studios for the day

- Survived almost getting lost on a country road in the middle of the Ocala Nat'l Forest with no cellular service coming back

- Drove down to Ft. Lauderdale for Fleet Week to see my husband and surprise my best friend Denise from Denise Lee in Miami at work

- Met my friend Marissa aka @searchforw0nderland (https://www.searchforw0nderland.com) for the very first time trying to go together to the springs and instead ended up in one of the worst Florida storms we had seen in a long time and camped out a local organic store ( you HAVE to check her out she has THE most amazing Instagram)

- Went to Universal Studios for the first time with my husband

- Had an insane day trip visiting 3 Florida springs gems with my great friends Lauren and Cami and got it all on video

- Moved cross country and drove all the way there with my mom

- Flew my good friend Lauren out to come help me move in and explored the area

- Met her amazing Aunt Jenn and Uncle Mike, who were my support and family when I was alone for a month and who I now call Aunt and Uncle

- Organically gained 300 followers in 3 days

- Celebrated hitting 1K followers

- Drove 12 hours straight to Detroit Michigan to attend my father-in-laws wedding to the most perfect woman for him and met her incredibly sweet aunts

- Celebrated a year of marriage to my incredible husband

- Took a train last minute to meet my best friend Denise in New York City

- Hit 1,800 followers

- Got a job doing photography and traveling

- Had a princess themed birthday party

- My aunt came up to see us for the first time

- My best friend Denise came up for the first time and we explored the entire state

- Met up with one of my best friends in Dallas (my first ever trip to Texas!) for a really important reason {to be announced later ;) }

- Celebrated Thanksgiving with my husband, friend Jaylene and amazing mother who flew up just for the occasion and cooked practically the entire incredible spread

- Went to Boston to meet with family friends who I hadn’t seen in many years and shared an amazing evening with them

- Spent Noche Buena (aka Christmas Eve) with Jaylene and her family

- Got to open Jeffree Star mystery boxes and try Simply Nailogical’s Holo Taco

- Had an incredible Christmas with my husband and received hand crafted scarves and hats from my grandmother

- Started a channel on Vlare

- I posted 116 photos on Instagram, 30 videos on YouTube and received well over 16k likes on instagram and on YouTube had 3,435 views on my channel

- And finally we celebrated New Years with a big 20’s inspired shindig!

I accomplished this and so much more in 2019 and now that I’ve taken the time to look back and write it all out, I am so proud of everything I have done and so grateful for all of the amazing people in my life. If it weren’t for them, I would not be where I am today and would never have been able to accomplish all that I have.

It's honestly funny how before I was almost incredibly upset at the thought that I had wasted a year and yet I look back and the more time passes the more amazing things I remember.

I would love for you to take a step back as well and look back on your 2019 and tell me what you've accomplished. You would be amazed at everything you have done. And on the off chance that you aren’t, here is your sign- now is your chance to change it! Who knows, I might have a few guests come on soon to talk about their accomplishments and more!

Thank you to all of the amazing people in my life. Thank you 2019 for teaching me so much, giving me the space to learn and grow. I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings.

Keep on Rocke-in’

Love,

Naty
