Sesame Place Mardi Gras Parade

Everything you need to know + Full POV video!

Dates & Park Op Info

Sesame Place’s brand new Mardi Gras Parade runs from Feb 5th – March 20th, 2022! It happens every weekend at 1:30 pm and is a great send-off after a day in the park. This is part of Elmo’s Furry Fun Fest that celebrates holidays and character birthdays from the beginning of the year to the end of March. This is also part of Sesame Place’s current limited park operations in the chillier months. Remember to expect the park to be open “from 10 am – 2 pm Saturdays and Sundays, January 8 – March 20, Monday, January 17, and Monday, February 21. Select rides will be open each weekend and will vary based on availability and weather conditions.”

Attending the Parade

If you are looking to attend the parade, please make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes early as the parade route fills up quickly, even including the platinum pass holder reserved section. The parade starts from the front of the park by the Oscar’s Wacky Taxi area and moves into the park. The route is denoted by large frisbee-sized orange painted circles. Make sure to sit just behind one in order to have a great view and comply with safety protocol.

Character Sightings

The Sesame Place Mardi Gras Parade is a great way to get your last fill of the characters all at once! The parade consists of 9 floats with a character on top. Between each float are a pair of dancers and an occasional walking character. During the parade, you can spot: Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, The Count, Telly, Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Prairie Dawn and more!
